Fume Hood Inspections

All hoods used for ventilation in the laboratories are checked by EHS on a yearly basis to ensure adequate air flow is maintained. If your laboratory has a hood that does not work, facilities management will need to be contacted. Before work is done on the inside of a hood that contains hazardous substances, all items will need to be removed and the hood cleaned. Any hoods used for radioactive materials will require a wipe by the Radiation Safety Office before any work can be done on the inside of the hood.
